The match started with both teams playing cautiously, but it was Bali United who created the first real chance of the game when Privat Mbarga broke through the PERSIB defense, but his shot was saved by Fitrul Dwi Rustapa. The deadlock was finally broken in the 35th minute when Bali United's Eber Bessa scored a stunning goal from outside the box.
